Stonehenge & Avebury

Take a look at Stonehenge which is probably the most famous stone circle in the world. In contrast to Stonehenge we will then take a look at Avebury (a stone circle in its own right) with its quarter mile wide ditch and bank, a monument most likely built around a similar time to Stonehenge.
Nearby there are a number of monuments built out of the same Sarsen stone (a type of sandstone) as Stonehenge and Avebury, where it is also possible to see stones lying in their natural landscape as they were before they were used for building ancient monuments.

The sites in the title of the tour are the places which we most try to get to on the day (subject to last minute closures or other unforeseen circumstances). However, we do like to be flexible so feel free to discuss on the day if there are any additional sites you would like to see. Or if you would like to change the itinerary entirely (however you would have to purchase any tickets for sites which were not planned).

Please select a pick up area when booking.
