University City and Gothic Cathedral

Take a tour from Oxford (ideal if you're already staying there in the city) to Stonehenge. Before we head off to Stonehenge Brendan your guide will give you a tour of his old stomping ground where he was a student between 2011 to 2015. An entrance to a college is likely depending on season and whether it is term time (unfortunately a tour of Christchurch College will not be possible at any time). Later in the day visit Salisbury Cathedral which is one of the tallest remaining structures from the middle ages with its spire reaching up 123 meters (404 ft). It's gothic architecture was built in a very short span of around 50 years and it is set with lawns surrounding it quite apart from the rest of the city.

Take a journey through one of the last former royal hunting forests of Medieval England. It has seen a wide range of use over the last 1000 years, and inspite of its seemingly wild nature it is uttlery a product of human interaction and management, from the neolithic to today! Take a look at barren heathland or go near to where it is thought King William Rufus was killed in 1100 and spot deer, privately owned ponies, cattle and pigs which roam the open heathland and forests. Quite bizzarely and somewhat out of place in southern England! It is possible to take a walk under Coastal Redwoods and to see some Giant Redwoods along the way (all part of the substantial plantation of ornamental trees in the 19th century).
